"Community trust in PUSD is paramount if the district is going to be able to continue our upward trajectory of student outcomes and facility modernization.
As both an involved parent and teacher in the district I believe that Juan Carlos Perez will bring a fresh perspective that will focus on a data driven approach and take seriously the board's role in financial oversight. He is committed to ensuring that taxpayer dollars, including future bond and parcel tax funds, are carefully managed and that district resources are directed to support students and classrooms first.
Juan Carlos will focus on positive collaboration with all board members and district staff to promote transparency, accountability, and the best outcomes for our schools. He will be able to make tough decisions while resisting pressure to simply put a positive face on the district in the hope that things will work themselves out. Building true trust and community buy-in to the district requires honest public dialogue, not just feel good statements.
I believe that Juan Carlos will be that true and trusted voice."
